A very basic book January 11, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you really want to learn how to use the product, then this book will not be of any real use.
It covers a few basics such as logging on, and indicates a few other simple functions within the system. However, there is simply not enough depth to make it of any value. You could certainly learn everything in the book in a 24 hour period; possibly even a 24 minute period. The software product is simply too big to cover in adequate depth in a single book - and this one fails to do much more than cover some issues that are in the SAP help files.
However, the limited amount of information is well presented - it might be of some assistance to a complete novice to help cover some of the basic knowledge required to get them started. But they will very quickly need to look for more information than is covered by this book.
It does not teach March 23, 2007 19 out of 23 found this review helpful
If you are SAP user, this book will not help you at all. I bought the book and hoped to have some coherent descriptions on finance and controlling modules of SAP. Instead the book fails to give a good account of what SAP does or does not.
SAP is a mighty expensive system and it takes many staff to do basic things that can be done easily on any accounting software package. In my company, there is nobody with a good understanding of what SAP does or does not.
This book is a selling pitch for two consultants who work for SAP. The book is written in a very unfinancial way and it is a bore to read.
