i'm surprised there aren't more reviews. these books basically redenfine and standardize ABAP documentation... precise descriptions of each statement and ddown to the components... unicode stuff... generating objects. etc... i wouldn't really suggest it for total newbies, but otherwise it's the best reference out there. the outer box is not very durable. don't drop it (twice) like i did..the books themselves are harcover/strong. There are sections on user dialogues, processing external data with SQL that are helpful for me right now, but everyone is looking for diferent info... haven't even tried the software yet...

I bought this book from the SAP Press website about 3 months ago and I've gone into it about 150 times already. It's like an encyclopedia of information for anyone who deals with ABAP development. The glossary and the software (WAS 6.10) are worth the price alone and the way its organized makes finding something specific very easy. I was amazed at how much there is. The 2 books, with the CDs probably weighs about 10 pounds!! And there is no filler. It's helped me get rid of significant amounts of obsolete code and improve several programs that were written before I got to this company. I'm just glad it's on the shelf here... actually we just got a second copy, because other guys in the department kept borrowing it!! Definitely recommend it. You'll be using it for at least the next 3-5 years or longer.
